Ai shares her gravekeeper origins with Kiriko, who reveals he is an undead created by a witch from the Fallen Five-Pointed Star. Kiriko and Diva diagnose Scar’s pseudocyesis, while Kiriko and Ai befriend Princess Ulla. As cloaked figures approach Ortus, Julie and Ai discuss the divide between the living and undead. City bells ring, signaling a ceremony to kill one hundred and five humans to accept them into Ortus. Disturbed by the contradiction to her duty and believing Ulla is unaware, Ai rushes to the citadel, unaware that Ulla is the one conducting the ritual.
