Yuichi searches for Makoto at night and locates her in the shopping district. He shadows her to a hill overlooking the city, where she has discovered a stray cat. Yuichi takes both of them home, and the cat is named Piroshiki. Meanwhile, Yuichi and Sayuri convince Mai to participate in the upcoming ball. Later, Piro and Akiko fall ill, prompting Makoto and Ayu to take care of them.
