Following her second day of classes, Makoto Sawatari seeks out Yuichi in the shopping district with the intention of starting a fight. However, she suddenly collapses due to extreme hunger. Akiko takes Makoto in to care for her. The following day, Yuichi discovers several of Makoto's pranks and becomes suspicious that she is responsible for stealing his wallet. This sequence of events highlights the tension between the characters while introducing Akiko's role in aiding Makoto during her vulnerable state.
