Nishikata attempts to trick Takagi into saying "cold" in the classroom, but she counters with a romantic question. Sanae expresses annoyance at Mina and Yukari for wearing winter uniforms, though Mina insists the day is warm. Later, Nishikata eats lunch alone until Takagi joins him for a contest over food, which he loses. He reluctantly thanks her for the company. Inspired by a fake UFO photo taken by Takao, Nishikata convinces a skeptical Takagi to help him capture a real one. He successfully takes a picture, leading Takagi to realize the UFO is genuine. Finally, Nishikata encounters Takagi at a public bathhouse. When he offers to walk her home in the dark, a flustered Takagi runs away.
