Nishikata uses a fan in class, prompting Takagi to challenge him to an eraser-moving contest, which she wins before standing beside him. He later discusses a baseball manga with Takao and Kimura, an overheard conversation that leads Takagi to propose a strike-out challenge, which Nishikata loses due to distraction. Meanwhile, Yukari, Mina, and Sanae attempt to rescue a cat they believe is trapped, only to find it unharmed after taking shelter from the rain. As school ends, Nishikata retrieves an umbrella from the lost and found. Feeling guilty for leaving Takagi behind while walking home, he returns to the classroom so they can depart together.
