During the Medley Relay Finals, Amuro replaces Orizuka on the team. After early setbacks by Sanae, Shizuoka advances the position, allowing Amuro to anchor with her unique mermaid style. She secures a dramatic comeback victory, enabling swimmers like Ikariya to qualify for the Inter-High. Sanae and Orizuka reflect on their three years at Umishou. Meanwhile, Amuro reminds Kaname of their bargain. Expecting a kiss, Kaname is surprised when Amuro only wants to swim. Her accidental slip into the water reveals she is the mermaid who saved him in Okinawa years prior. At practice, other swimmers demand rewards, causing an uproar when Amuro claims hers is already fulfilled. Kaname denies dating her, but Amuro’s response to Makio implies the truth.
