During the tournament, Orizuka competes against her old rival Nanjou Karena from Shinomiya University High School, who has defeated her previously. Although Shinomiya has a strong team, Orizuka believes Umishou is equally strong. The boys show less enthusiasm. Umishou wins five straight events against Shinomiya. In the 100m Freestyle finals, Orizuka, Amuro, and Nanjou compete, leading Nanjou to propose a bet to add excitement to the race.
