Migi enters a dormant state after bidding farewell in Shinichi's dreams. One year later, Uragami takes Satomi hostage, forcing Shinichi to fight alone. Shinichi is stabbed in the arm while rushing Uragami but knocks him out. During the struggle, Satomi falls over an edge. Shinichi fails to catch her and sobs, questioning why bad things always happen at the end. Suddenly, Migi appears in his head, stating he is tired of holding Satomi. Shinichi realizes his right hand is holding her and pulls her back up, recalling the dog's burial incident. This sequence resolves the immediate threat but leaves Shinichi to process the traumatic events and the unusual cooperation with his parasite partner during the rescue attempt.
