Onemine and Kaede Otori recruit Komi to help gather materials, a request that makes Komi feel valued after previously feeling useless in middle school. The group distributes flyers, with Komi nervously handing them out to acquaintances, including a mother she met at the library. The girls surprise the boys with onigiri, and Komi is delighted when Tadano chooses the one she made. Onemine notices this interaction. During the festival, Komi, Najimi, and Tadano dress as maids. Komi finds Tadano’s appearance adorable, while the boys feel uncomfortable. Hitomi later teases Tadano by photographing him to show his mother.
