At school, Najimi touches Komi’s neck, prompting Komi to reciprocate with Tadano. Najimi gives Komi a notebook to list friends, and Komi asks Tadano to write first. New student Makoto Katai arrives, but his intimidating look isolates him until Tadano befriends him. Nakanaka invites the group to her home, where Yamai and Nakanaka argue. Komi states both are equally important, leading Nakanaka to challenge them to a video game, which Najimi wins. During an exam, Komi drops her pencil but fears asking for help. Tadano intentionally drops his to assist her. Tadano later lacks an eraser, so Komi returns the favor. Both become too embarrassed to concentrate. At home, Tadano refuses to let Hitomi use the eraser Komi gave him.
