Ep. 53: The Water Dragon of Rage Appears as Zatch Battles Penny

Kiyo and Zatch survive Penny’s assault after Zatch apologizes at Kiyo’s urging. When Penny asks if he likes her, Zatch admits he does not because he does not know her, causing Penny to attack again. Kiyo attempts to use Rauzaruk to position Zatch for Zakeruga, but fails, revealing that spells cannot be cast while Rauzaruk is active. Penny summons a water dragon with So Giaku, prompting Zatch to counter with Bao Zakeruga. After Zatch’s dragon wins, Byonko, a frog-like Mamodo, appears to recruit fighters for a plan to eliminate the remaining Mamodos. His spell attempt fails because his Bookkeeper is at the dentist, allowing the enemies to escape. Meanwhile, Penny meets Milordo-Z, who reveals they are collecting stone tablets containing Mamodos from a battle a thousand years ago. Milordo-Z explains that a special light similar to human moonlight will free them, with Penny leading the charge to defeat Zatch.
