A flashback shows three Heaven's Blade wielders battling a giant contaminoid named Limbeekun. In the present, Layfon Wolfstein Alseif travels from his regios to the academic city of Zuellni. Meanwhile, Nina Antalk loses a platoon member and must find recruits. Layfon arrives in Zuellni just as a fight between two students causes a building to collapse on Mayshen Torinden. He uses incredible speed to save her after receiving a telepathic command. Layfon meets student body president Kalian Loss, who forces him into a military arts platoon. Nina, having witnessed the rescue, recruits Layfon into the 17th Platoon. He later meets Felli Loss, a platoon member who sent the telepathic message. That evening, Layfon remembers he was one of the fighters against Limbeekun in the past.
