Nina remembers a previous exercise where Zuellni students lost to another regios. She introduces Layfon to the 17th Platoon and engages him in a practice duel, ending with him striking a wall via her kei blast. Felli later questions Layfon regarding Nina’s victory, mentioning her brother Kalian’s intent to push him into military arts. During Layfon’s part-time work, Nina confesses she fled her parents to study military arts in Zuellni. In a subsequent capture the flag battle against the 16th Platoon, the 17th Platoon struggles. As Nina faces defeat, Felli transmits her thoughts to Layfon. He responds with a powerful kei burst, defeating the 16th Platoon members and surprising spectators. Afterwards, Nina and Felli separate in anger toward Layton, with Nina believing he held back and Felli thinking he lost control.
