Ep. 5: Seirin struggles against Shutoku as Kagami tires and Midorima dominates the court
Aired on November 3, 2013

Seirin holds a 23-16 lead against Shutoku entering the second quarter, but Kagami’s fatigue and Takao’s hawk eye challenge Kuroko’s Misdirection. Midorima’s faking and passing force Kagami to expend more energy per shot. Kiyoshi and Kagami double team Midorima, opening the interior, while Kuroko is replaced by Mitobe. Despite Seirin’s fast-paced offense, the quarter ends with a narrow 45-43 advantage. Shutoku takes control in the third quarter, leading 68-76 with one minute remaining. Kagami’s physical limits are reached, prompting Kuroko to request a return to the court to utilize his new drive.
