Angela employs a cinematic record to compel Ciel to remember his parents' murder, but he rejects her attempt to alter his history. Sebastian and Grell visit the Grim Reaper library, where Spears explains that angels cannot change the past, only its impression. Angela traps Ciel in a meadow with his parents to achieve purification, yet his intense hatred allows him to break free and return to the present. She subsequently locks Ciel, Sebastian, Grell, the Undertaker, and Spears inside the library. While Angela targets cult members at the cathedral, the Undertaker uses a death bookmark on Matilda's record to send the others to stop her. Angela then destroys the monastery, causing the monks and nuns to evacuate, which facilitates her escape.
