Ep. 16: Ciel and Sebastian investigate haunted Ludlow Castle and resolve the mystery of two assassinated princes.

Ciel learns that workers fear ghosts in the abandoned Ludlow Castle, preventing its conversion into a hotel. He and Sebastian travel there to investigate the disturbances. They encounter the spirits of Edward V and Richard, Duke of York, who were assassinated four centuries ago. Ciel plays chess against Edward V to pass the night, losing the game and thereby allowing Richard to claim Sebastian as a prize. Consequently, Sebastian serves both princes under Ciel’s orders. Later, the duo discovers a secret passageway in the library. Edward displays family skulls on a chessboard, indicating Richard holds the missing knight piece. After retrieving the skull from Richard, it is revealed that Edward harbored a grudge against their assassin. Upon solving the mystery, the princes thank the duo and depart for the afterlife. Ciel decides to leave the castle unrenovated. The narrative confirms the princes indeed vanished from the Tower of London.
