Komari suffers shock after remembering her deceased brother Takuya and their time in the hospital. In her memory, Takuya writes a picture book, warning that he may be gone when she wakes but urging her not to despair. Upon awakening, she finds he has died but recalls his words, refusing to lose hope. As a defense mechanism, Komari mistakenly believes Riki is her brother. Kyousuke tells Riki he is the only one who can save her. Riki consults Kojirō, who explains this reaction occurs whenever Komari witnesses death and that she will recover in a few weeks. Determined to help, Riki adds to Takuya's storybook. He forces Komari to accept her brother's death while demonstrating through the book that she has friends to support her.
