Ep. 17: Speed races in Kapecapek while Racer X reveals his true identity as Kabala
Aired on July 23, 1967
Speed competes in a volcanic race in Kapecapek while Kadar discovers diamonds and threatens Kabala. Speed intervenes, causing Kabala’s mask to fall and revealing Racer X. As the ground collapses, Kadar escapes with the treasure but is later killed by lava. Racer X explains he disguised himself as Kabala to protect the treasure after his mentor died in a landslide. Speed and Racer X escape the erupting mountain. Although Speed wins, the Chief refuses to concede until Racer X reveals his identity. The Chief then agrees to keep Kapecapek’s borders open part-time.
