Ep. 22: Godai is shocked when Kyoko announces her resignation to the tenants

Kyoko visits her parents, the Chigusas, who urge her to resign as manager of Maison Ikkoku and return home. She refuses, reflecting on her fondness for the building, but nearly falls from the balcony while attempting repairs. Godai saves her, and she subsequently hires contractors to address a termite infestation. Meanwhile, Godai seeks to seal a hole used by Yotsuya for spying. Yotsuya threatens to expose late-night noises Godai made, assuming Kyoko cannot hear due to a passing plane. In reality, Kyoko is nearby and asks Godai to clean his room to allow repairs and prevent further secrets from being revealed. Later, Mrs. Chigusa arrives to inform Godai, Mrs. Ichinose, and Yotsuya that Kyoko has quit her job, leaving Godai in shock.
