After Mrs. Chigusa announces Kyoko’s departure, movers remove the manager’s items and leave. Godai weeps and is taken by Mrs. Ichinose to drink, while Mr. Yotsuya stays behind. Kyoko arrives late after grocery shopping and learns of her mother’s actions. She tells Yotsuya she will visit her parents, but he misunderstands and claims she left snacks. Kyoko returns to her room to find the tenants drinking inside. Godai embraces her joyfully. She explains that her mother lied and moved her things without consent, an act that may be illegal. The group welcomes her back happily as she clarifies the situation.
