Kyoko visits her ill father, who opposes her remarriage, while she nervously hints at a future with Godai. At Acorn Daycare, Godai resolves to propose after hearing coworkers discuss marriage. Meanwhile, Kyoko waits anxiously, and her father disappears from his sickbed to intervene. Godai spends his final night at Bunny Cabaret, where he cares for a passed-out Mr. Chigusa. After a going-away party, Godai walks Kyoko home and finally asks her to marry him. Kyoko agrees but demands he promise to outlive her, fearing loneliness after losing Soichiro. Godai swears to this condition. Mr. Chigusa wakes and reassures Kyoko she will never be alone, allowing her to embrace both Godai and her father.
