Takeru witnesses Kodama changing, then nearly misses school, prompting a warning from student council president Furan Takaki. Homeroom teacher Tomika Amato mandates physical exams in the nurse's office. Takeru and Kengo Usui attempt to spy on the girls from a tree, but Kodama discovers them without lethal force. During the exams, school nurse Aki Nijou fails to identify Takeru's Element, leaving him without a Maken and defenseless. Inaho promises to protect him, while Minori and Maken creator Gen Tagayashi express concern over his condition. Later, Takeru wishes to join the pin-up girl photo club, but Haruko forbids it, suggesting he instead consider the security committee.
