Conan initially decides to abandon the case, confusing Mitsuhiko. Haibara explains that the random nature of the crime offers no suspect pool. However, Conan suddenly realizes the truth after observing a lady cleaning near a metal pole. He deduces the culprit used a bicycle to flee through the city with bloodstained clothes, evading witnesses. This observation allows Conan to identify the trick used to escape the scene despite the lack of traditional leads.
