The establishment has operated for 32 years under Masashi Ogata and his son Kosaku, featuring signatures from famous patrons. After tasting the ramen, the group notes the distinct difference in taste. Conan observes that the owner never turns his face, while the Detective Boys confirm that Masashi and Kosaku frequently quarrel. This leads to suspicions that Kosaku replaced his father. The mystery is resolved when it is revealed that the person posing as the owner is actually Kenji Ogata, Kosaku's uncle. Masashi Ogata has been missing for 4 days, confirming the substitution.
