Rachel, Serena, and the Junior Detective League attend Tamanosuke Ito’s acrobatics show featuring the legend of Edo Boy. They meet cast members Ryuichi Muraki, Yuri Shirai, Kenzo Tajima, and Megumi Ito. During a dress rehearsal, the group observes scriptwriter Tetsuo Chikaishi treating Tamanosuke harshly. Afterward, Megumi searches for Tetsuo and discovers his body. The troupe members have alibis as they were rehearsing together. Conan notices Tamanosuke acting suspiciously by omitting that an item is missing from the scene. The investigation begins with the detectives trying to unravel the contradiction between the locked-room alibi and the obvious signs of foul play within the drama troupe.
