Ep. 123: The Junior Detective League investigates the mysterious disappearance of weather girl Ashley Underwood.
Ashley Underwood contacts Richard for help but receives threatening letters instead. With Richard away, the Junior Detective League investigates and meets her cruel coworker, Katie Banwell. Before disappearing, Ashley gives Conan her pager number. When she fails to return, Conan discovers she has been kidnapped. He receives cryptic number messages on his pager, including an emergency code. With help from Rachel and George, he decodes the signals to locate her. The group rescues Ashley and confronts the kidnapper, who is unmasked as Katie Banwell. A distinctive nail design reveals her identity. Katie confesses that jealousy over losing her job to Ashley motivated the crime. Conan advises her to work harder instead of resorting to kidnapping. She is subsequently arrested for her actions.
