Lounge members preserve the crime scene around Hamano's body and retreat inside, suspecting club member Dark Master is the killer. Conan, Rachel, Kihisae Tanaka, and Katsuki Doi go upstairs for a sweater but are nearly hit by an arrow through the window. Another arrow strikes the ground floor simultaneously. Investigating outside, the group finds a crossbow and suspects an outsider culprit. Conan notices staples on the exterior wall, leading him to deduce the method behind the murders.
