Haibara guides the Detective Boys through secret passages, where Genta and Mitsuhiko are captured. She and Ayumi find the grand mistress's corpse in an abandoned tower. Haibara deduces that Mutsumi Nishikawa murdered Mrs. Mamiya and others, faked her death, had plastic surgery, and assumed Masuyo's identity to find treasure. Mutsumi attacks the girls until Conan, Mitsuhiko, Dr. Agasa, and Genta arrive. Conan reveals the treasure is the castle's valley view. Mutsumi realizes she wasted 10 years and killed many people for nothing, then is arrested.
