The Junior Detective League visits Mitsue Mika's apartment for a haircut and discovers she was strangled. Conan identifies the weapon as a blue plastic hanger and suspects her boss, Futou Midori, though evidence is lacking. While police investigate, the Detective Boys locate the hanger, which a crow has taken for its nest. Midori is subsequently convicted of the murder. She later confesses that Mika intended to leave her to pursue a higher career, despite Midori having trained her. Later that day, the Junior Detective League is attacked by crows seeking revenge for the stolen hanger.
