Agasa gives beach resort tickets to Kogoro, Ran, and the Junior Detective League. During the flight, Ran dreams of a murder on an airliner. In the past, photographer Kazuhiro Ootaka is found dead in a bathroom. Shinichi deduces Ootaka was drugged and injected with poison via a thin metal object. Megure searches four suspects who entered the bathroom but finds no weapon. Shinichi identifies Tsugumi Amano, Ootaka's girlfriend, as the killer. She used a sharpened brassiere wire for the murder. Amano confesses, explaining that Ootaka intentionally set a building on fire for photographs, which accidentally caused her brother's death.
