Conan discovers a 1 yen coin, proving someone lived there after the house was vacated forty years ago. He finds evidence of an old man carving coins and notices strange codes featuring moon, star, and sun symbols on various objects. The group finds their treasure destroyed, leading Conan to deduce an unknown culprit sought a different prize and destroyed the toys in anger. Agasa reveals his aunt received letters in this code, which Booker Kudo deciphered, and that someone was intercepting her mail. Conan realizes the symbols represent Hiragana, identifying the mail-interceptor as the culprit who destroyed the toys and is still searching for the hidden treasure.
