Ran and Kogoro receive an invitation to an engagement party hosted by Youko-chan, a favorite idol. The guest of honor is Kaoru, a former member of their shared group, who is a fan of Kogoro and requests his assistance in identifying her stalker. While Kaoru prepares for a bath, the other members of the girl group plan to surprise her by performing their old song. Conan discovers a trail of blood leading to a door, where they find Kaoru has been attacked. Bloody clothing is discovered outside, initially appearing to implicate the stalker, but the evidence actually points to someone present at the party.
