A rude man is discovered dead after being struck on the head with a rock. Mouri initially suspects four friends who all possessed motives, yet each provides an alibi during questioning. One woman eventually breaks down and confesses to the murder. However, Conan uses his deductions to prove that she merely knocked the victim unconscious. The actual killer is revealed to be the man involved in business. This conclusion overturns the apparent confession and identifies the true perpetrator behind the fatal blow.
