Ayumi resolves to address Ai Haibara by her first name, Ai-chan, during the Detective Boys camping trip. The group encounters four college students who offer a ride in their campervan to the mountain summit for fireworks viewing. While descending, the body of one student, Yasumi Shirafuji, is discovered on the road. Initial evidence at the summit suggests she lost control of her bike and fell off the cliff. However, Conan notes the absence of blood on the cement, indicating the scene may be staged. He concludes that Shirafuji was murdered and identifies the remaining three college students as the primary suspects in the case.
