Conan identifies the backpack owner as a baseballer by detecting oil on a rag, ruling out a golfer. The team tracks the suspect to an aquatic show where Sato attempts to arrest him while he meets Yakura. Yakura evades capture and flees toward a ferris wheel, triggering a traumatic memory in Sato that freezes her. Conan knocks Yakura into the ocean, causing Takagi to lose his backpack and ring. Police arrest Yakura, and Takagi comforts Sato, promising he will not leave her side.
