Sonoko's uncle attempts to capture Kaito Kid to enhance his own reputation. Kaito Kid appears and seemingly walks on air while investigating the treasure he intends to steal. Conan investigates the scene and discovers the trick Kaito Kid employed. When Kaito Kid attempts to steal the jewel a second time, it is revealed to be a distraction. He actually steals the jewel from indoors and escapes on a motorcycle. Conan is found on the passenger seat during the getaway. Kaito Kid manages to lose Conan and escape once again.
