Ep. 36: The 7:30 PM Murder Mystery Involving Ayumi and a Dentist's Alibi

Ayumi visits Sawaki Yoko’s dental office to remove a baby tooth, bringing a Masked Yaiba card for luck. Meanwhile, Nakamoto Katsuhiko, a real estate manager and Yoko’s neighbor, is stabbed in the heart with a syringe by an unknown assailant at exactly 7:30PM. Yoko discovers the body near her apartment and initially appears to have an alibi, as she was supposedly watching TV with Ayumi. Conan deduces that Yoko used an optical illusion in her apartment, designed to mimic the dentist's waiting room, to create a false timeline. She utilized sedatives and her car to convince Ayumi they remained at the office, while actually being at the condo during the murder. Ayumi inadvertently incriminated Yoko by placing a trading card from the office into the condo’s collection. Yoko confesses to the killing, citing revenge for her brother’s unsolved kidnapping and murder, and surrenders to the police.
