Sonoko invites Ran and Conan to her sister Ayako’s film club reunion at a mountain villa, joining Sumiya Hiroki, Takahashi Ryoichi, writer Ikeda Chikako, and Ohta Masaru. Upon arrival, a mysterious bandaged man flees across a bridge. Ran accidentally interrupts the others while changing, prompting Chikako to walk into the woods after hearing about member Tokumoto Atsuko. The bandaged man later attempts to kill Ran with an axe but is stopped by Conan. Chikako is subsequently kidnapped, decapitated, and dismembered, with her remains found in the woods. Escape routes are destroyed, and Conan discovers Chikako was lured by a note. Ran is attacked again during sleep but saved by Conan, who is injured and questions why the killer targets her.
