Mitsuhiko informs the Detective Boys that Shouko Amemiya, a girl who strongly resembles Haibara, has gone missing. Conan suspects the Black Organization may be responsible and begins an investigation. The group discovers that Amemiya's parents are away for the week attending a funeral. Witnesses report seeing her head toward a convenience store. Conan later learns that Amemiya purchased a large bottle of juice, powdered milk, and an X-Acto knife. This combination of items raises concerns about her safety and whereabouts. The detectives attempt to piece together her last known movements to determine if foul play is involved or if she is simply in danger due to being alone.
