Ran and Sonoko invite new classmate Eisuke Hondou to visit Kogoro. Client Atsushi Misumi hires Kogoro to find his girlfriend, Ami. Based on her last words, the group travels to Gunma Prefecture with Misumi. They discover Ami dead inside a sealed car. Misumi breaks the window with a bat and cuts the gaffer tape on the passenger door to enter. Authorities determine Ami died of carbon monoxide poisoning and rule it a suicide. Conan investigates the scene and deduces the death was a murder committed by Misumi. He focuses on determining how Misumi exited the sealed vehicle without leaving the scene.
