After investigating the scene, Conan deduces the murder method and tranquilizes Kogoro to accuse Misumi. He explains that Misumi drugged Ami and drove her in the car, taping the doors shut but leaving a slit on the passenger side to exit. Conan clarifies that when Misumi later broke in to save Ami, he only pretended to cut the door, which was already sliced. To prove his guilt, Conan presents a book found in the car that appeared on the same day, bearing Misumi's fingerprints. Although Misumi claimed his girlfriend went missing yesterday, he eventually confesses, admitting he killed her because she was cheating on him despite his devotion.
