A maid and adviser alert Conan to Jirokichi's odd actions, noting two missing plates after dinner and his habit of carrying a cane to the safe. After Jirokichi asks the maid for assistance and then departs with his bodyguard for a drive, an unconscious Jirokichi is discovered tied up. A note from Kaitou Kid is found on the safe, prompting the entire police force guarding the location to abandon their posts and chase the apparent Jirokichi.
