Jodie Starling spots a man resembling Shuichi Akai with a severe facial scar in Beika, who vanishes into an alley. At a bank, armed robbers separate customers by companionship, forcing isolated individuals to gag and blind their groups. Jodie identifies the scarred man as a memory- and voice-less Akai, then neutralizes one robber in the restroom. She alerts Conan Edogawa and the Detective Boys, who are hiding in stalls, about the hostages' predicament and the robbers' time-sensitive focus. After Jodie is knocked unconscious, the boys conceal themselves while the robbers disguise the incapacitated man. Conan devises a strategy to apprehend the four remaining criminals.
