Police examine a glass with Kuze's fingerprints found near the gothic girl. At the shop where Kuze bought the clothes, an employee notes they are sold in pairs, prompting Conan to realize Shoudou's alibi is false. Conan tranquilizes Kogoro and explains that Shoudou entered the tea house and prepared the glass with Kuze's fingerprints beforehand. He points out a scratch on Shoudou's hand, indicating she was attacked by Kuze while strangling her, and suggests her blood is in the restroom. Takagi confirms a positive luminol reaction in a stall, awaiting test results. Shoudou confesses, revealing Kuze destroyed her life to possess her completely.
