Upon returning to Detective Mori's agency, Heiji requests assistance in locating Teruaki Kunisue, a Teitan University sophomore who received Kazuha's lucky charm by mistake. The group visits the university the following day and discovers Teruaki has been absent due to a broken wrist. Ran realizes from Kazuha that the charm contains a photo of Heiji, which Kazuha wishes to keep secret. The quartet then proceeds to a sports parlor where Teruaki was last seen. Police inform them that Teruaki was assaulted by an unknown attacker. Based on alibis confirming the suspects were not in the bar-room during the incident, the group narrows the list of potential perpetrators down to three individuals.
