Ep. 61: Richard faces arrest after being framed for the murder of lighthouse keeper Hank Hamada

The Ryujinmaru, an abandoned vessel rumored to hold one billion dollars in gold, resurfaces after years of disappearance, though the treasure is missing. Richard joins Conan and Rachel, invited by Chief Mikami to discuss the case, but arrives intoxicated. A miniature bomb detonates, scorching Richard’s buttocks. Conan converses with Edmund Hanratty about the Pirate's Curse, linked to a university professor decapitated by a pirate in a haunted cave. Rex Lager and Hank Hamada cross paths, but Hank rejects Rex. Richard learns Mikami intends to keep the gold and is forced to remain on the island. Later, Richard is attacked again, bashed on the head, and arrested for allegedly killing Hank Hamada with a katana. Conan must prove Richard’s innocence to prevent a life sentence.
