A despondent Ran, believing Shinichi does not reciprocate her feelings, encounters pro tennis player Minerva Glass. Minerva advises Ran that love is zero, referencing the tennis term, and will never succeed regardless of effort. Seeking guidance on riddles, Ran contacts Shinichi. Conan answers the first riddle about a rolling bell rising, which refers to Big Ben, and inadvertently reveals his location in London. Fearing Ran will uncover his true identity, Conan and Agasa flee. Cornered in a phone booth, Conan consumes the APTX 4869 antidote to revert to Shinichi. He confronts Ran, who confesses her pain over his perceived indifference and runs away, leaving Shinichi to chase after her.
