Ep. 860: Kogoro investigates a theft case that turns into a suspicious death involving an unlocked apartment.

Kogoro Mori accepts a job from Junko Miyoshi to locate a thief. During the investigation, the body of her neighbor Naotsugu Kitagami is found in the parking lot behind her apartment building. Kogoro initially assumes Kitagami fell accidentally after becoming intoxicated. However, Inspector Megure and the police examine the scene, and Conan notices inconsistencies. Specifically, Kitagami’s apartment had comprehensive anti-theft devices yet the front door was left unlocked. Conan interviews Ryosuke Sawada, who lives in unit 604 directly below Kitagami’s residence. Based on the evidence and the unlocked door, Conan concludes that Kitagami’s death was not an accident but likely a homicide.
