Heiji and Kazuha travel by Shinkansen to Tokyo with Conan and friends to visit the Suzuki Museum. The world's largest conk pearl, Fairy Lip, is displayed in a hard glass room inside a huge icicle. Conan learns of Phantom Thief Kid's interest through a challenge letter from Jirokichi Suzuki stating the jewels are visible from all directions. Inspector Nakamori and Inspector Takaaki Morofushi of the Nagano Prefectural Police Headquarters Investigation Division 1 are present. Kid arrives early among riot police and senses two high school detectives and Inspector Komei as threats. He hesitates to issue a notice until a visitor claims an imitation replaced the genuine conch pearl ring he deposited.
