Ep. 13: Shira kills O-Ren while Rin resolves to train as a swordsman

Hyakurin hires Shira to assassinate Magatsu, who has abandoned O-Ren. Anotsu learns that the Shingyoutou-ryuu shares philosophical roots with the Ittou-ryuu. Shira returns to report he failed to find Magatsu but killed O-Ren instead, irritating Hyakurin. Rin discusses Anotsu and Makie’s words with Manji, feeling confused about her path. Manji points out that those responsible for her parents' deaths are already dead. Magatsu discovers O-Ren’s corpse and realizes her love, facing the inn-owner’s blame. Yaobikuni advises Rin that she must be strong and follow her own way rather than hesitate. Inspired, Rin abandons her doubts and trains with total devotion to become a swordsman. The Mugai-ryuu prepares for conflict against the Ittou-ryuu, which Habaki monitors. The episode concludes by showing the diverging paths of the surviving characters.
